A useful booklet that works through Pythagoras' theorem from identifying right-angled triangles to 3D Pythagoras, and includes problem-solving practice. Objectives are:

  • identify and label right-angled triangles
  • explain Pythagoras' theorem
  • calculate a hypotenuse

  • determine whether a triangle has a right angle

really confusing and jumbled with volume of 3d shapes

We're sorry you've found this confusing. Each sheet is intended to be folded in half to create a booklet. Once that is done (according to the page numbers in the bottom corners), it should make sense.

The activities are good and the structure logical. It would be useful to have the pages in the correct order.

One to one tuition with students unwell and unable to attend school. A concise source of information, collecting key points and practice questions for independent study, independent revision or as a basis for class work which the teacher can supply further practice. Gives confidence to student that all points covered. Foundation level students can miss out higher level topics: Pythagoras in 3D shapes. Just right for students working towards grade C or above.
