A KS3 or foundation GCSE resource which can be used to check the understanding of basic area. Questions are given points based on their difficulty, ranging from counting squares, through areas of polygons to a question on the area of a semicircle, and students can choose which order they attempt the questions.
It can be particularly effective when used under timed conditions where students have to score as many points as possible.

Thanks for this worksheet, really useful revision. I just noticed on the first trapezium that 4cm looks like it relates to the sloping side, not the perpendicular height?

Hi Emily. I've got others that I can adapt as well. I have found them really good when trying to engage lazy but bright boys. You will be on the go marking questions within say a 10 - 20 minute interval - but it is well worth it.

I teach Mathematics to ESOL teens (15-18 yrs old) with very limited and zero English. I will develop my own material, vocabulary exercises, before I use your resource. They don't seem to have problems with maths, but struggle to understand and learn specialist vocabulary and instructions.
