In this worksheet on line symmetry, students are given 2D shapes made from squares. They are asked to create new shapes, either by adding a square or by combining two shapes, so that they have the specified number of lines of symmetry. The questions include one and two lines of symmetry. Students could cut out the shapes to support them in this activity.

In the 3rd pairing in task 3 (5sq + 1sq), the 2nd and 3rd solutions given have no lines of symmetry. The correction in both cases is to move the single square to the opposite side of the 5sq shape.
