Areas of L – shaped diagrams

This introduces the idea of splitting the 'L-shape' up into rectangles. It can be used whenever the area of a rectangle has been mastered. Suitable for very early KS3.

Resource used for a numeracy class in higher education setting as a recap. The class are doing construction and needed to be able to measure the room for a new carpet. It went well.
