An introduction to perimeter and area

This PowerPoint introduction to perimeter and area is ideal for groups who need more support. The presentation uses a squared background to show the rectangles and squares so students can clearly see the perimeters and areas.

After a demonstration of area and perimeter, students are asked to find rectangles with the same area and different perimeters and then find the area and perimeter of three compound shapes which can all be split into rectangles. Again these are on a squared background for support and clarity.
