Simplifying fractions Jigsaw

Match the equivalent fractions to complete the jigsaw. You could open a discussion on whether it's easier to find a fraction to simplify or to expand, and whether there is an infinite number of equivalent fractions. Choose a smaller template for a quicker activity.

I think this activity really provoked the students mental maths. It worked well with my top set year 8 class. I got them to glue together their jigsaw pieces and then they made posters out of it. Great for revising fractions.

This is excellent as it really tests the students on how to do fractions in a fun way. Great recap or revision
