Fractions - daily starter
A great maths starter activity on fractions which can be used to develop fluency in key skills over the course of a topic, or used for recall and retention spread throughout the year. This PowerPoint contains ten Fraction of the day tasks, each following the same format. With each starter, students need to:
- identify the numerator and denominator
- show the fraction on a number line
- identify the fraction as a proper or improper fraction or a mixed number.
- draw a picture showing the fraction
- write an equivalent fraction
- state whether the fraction is in its simplified form

This was used as a starter for my year 7 and actually they cheered today when they saw it on the board! So thank you it is a very useful one.

A PDF of this resource would not be useless at all and could be quite useful in actual fact :-)

Non-subscribers have access to PDF versions of the Word documents. The PowerPoint resources of course would be useless as PDFs.
